Great questions. I'll answer each as best I can.. 1point 3acres
1. Regarding internships.. ----
Duke MEng has some great resources for finding jobs and internships. There are career fairs, networking sessions, resume reviews, a writing center, and career counselors that are available for you. Obviously there is no guarantee that you will get an internship, but I do not know of anyone who has not gotten one in the past. I guess "easy" is relative, if you put in effort, use the resources available, and dedicate time to find an internship I don't think it will be a problem. International students tend to have a harder time finding internships due to the limited number of companies that hire international students; but Duke has a lot of resources to help find something.. check 1point3acres for more.

2. I can't give you a number on that, but if you contact the MEng Office at (919) 660-5455 or meng@pratt.duke.edu they should be able to either answer it or direct you to someone who can answer it. Sorry I can't be more help with this. I know EE's in general are in high demand and tend to be above the national employment rates. But specific to Duke and international students I can't say exactly.

3.  I will give you my answer, but I would suggest checking out the website and asking the MEng Office as well. They might be able to put you in touch with an academic adviser who understands the EE curriculum.

For your job hunt, I would say take classes that you are interested in and that relate to the jobs you will be seeking. So if you want to do computer science, I would take those types of classes. I am in BME, and our curriculum is very flexible in my opinion. All MEng students must take a business course and a management course (6 credits/2 courses). You need a total of at least 30 credits/10 classes. EE has sequences that each have requirements for the types of classes you take, but you still have options for what specific classes you choose. You might want to check this out, maybe it will help. http://meng.pratt.duke.edu/electrical-computer-curriculum.

4. Brown is a great university, it is always great to have options. I also was choosing between 2 schools last year, and ultimately it comes down to fit, and where you will be happiest. I don't want to talk you into coming to Duke if you won't be happy here The other school I was deciding on would have cost me a lot less, but I decided I would be happier at Duke and in the end it would be worth the money.

I will say, that the Duke MEng is different than a lot of other masters programs. I am not familiar with the program at Brown, but here at Duke there is an emphasis on a well rounded education. You get a great technical as well as business education. They train you to be a leader in the field, not only technically, but able to understand the business side of things and be able to work with people. The internship rather than a research project gives you a chance experience what a job in the field is like and perhaps find something you will enjoy as a career.

I don't know what parts of the country you are familiar with, but there are also many differences in the location of the 2 schools. Brown is in the Northeast, which will have a somewhat colder winter; whereas Duke is milder with little snow. Providence is a bigger city than Durham (I think), that could be better or worse depending on what you like MEng at Duke is only 1.5 or 2 years at most, so if you end up not liking it here it isn't as though you are doing a PhD and have to live here for a long time. ..

To be honest, you can't go wrong with either choice. Are you considering visiting both schools? Admitted Student Day is a great way to get those questions answered by career center reps, director of masters studies, and current EE students. If you can't attend, the MEng Office should be able to help direct you to people that can give you even more details to your questions.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, I hope there was something useful in everything I wrote (sorry I was so long winded). If you have any other questions or follow up questions let me know I am happy to answer them.
