要推荐信之后老师这么回，要怎么办TAT

Glad to hear from you and thank you for your email. While I appreciate your interest in pursuing doctoral studies, I am not sure that I know you well enough academically to provide a substantive reference. I did not have an opportunity to communicate with you about research beyond class, such as office hours. Besides, I will be traveling mostly during the winter break when a lot of applications are due..As such, I may not be able to meet the deadline of applications during the winter break.

I regret that I cannot be more positive in this. Please let me know if you still want me to offer the letter. Thanks.

推荐信这个事情，强扭的瓜不甜

我个人感觉，基本表示老师认为他/她和你的接触并不够多，ta不是很愿意提供推荐信。

建议回一封感谢信然后找一下别的推荐人吧。如果你坚持的话我感觉有可能出黑推……（个人想法）

找别的教授吧。我也有一个教授，本来指望能要到强推，结果人家根本不回邮件，去office堵人也没给positive response。
都是没办法的事，carry on！
