Grace Period生效时间与离境时间问题| 回复都加米

楼主master， i20上的program end date为x月y日，提交毕业论文时间早于此日期一周，即x月(y-7)日，并且之后无期末考试；那么，楼主合法留美的最后期限/必须离境的日期，到底是x月y日后的60天，还是x月(y-7)日后的60天？
第二个问题是，查阅资料+谨慎性，楼主认为x月(y-7)日为grace peiod开始比较合理，但因为个人原因，希望能多待再离开，并且以后可能还要签F1，这种情况下，楼主打算待满58天左右离开美国，不知道这样妥当否？主要害怕被认为非法滞美/有留美倾向/离美时间过晚之类，影响以后的F签。

移民局认定的日期以I20 program end date 为准，和你什么时候交毕设没有关系。grace day 最后一天离境没有问题。

“If you are an undergraduate student, your completion date will be the last day of the term in which you complete your degree requirements, usually the last day of final exams (regardless of the date you actually graduate from the university).

If you are a graduate student writing a thesis or dissertation, your completion date will be the date that you submit the final draft of your thesis or dissertation (provided that you have been making normal progress toward your degree completion).”

在这个学校官网上看到的信息： https://international.iupui.edu/visas/f1-students/graduation.html。所以认为论文提交最终期限可能为program completion date

program completion date，在iupui学校的international板块上看到定义如下

“If you are an undergraduate student, your completion date will be the last day of the term in which you complete your degree requirements, usually the last day of final exams (regardless of the date you actually graduate from the university).
