U.S. News & World Report ranks University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) a Tier 1 National Research University. The campus complements the scholarly research conducted within each of its colleges with research performed throughout 16 additional interdisciplinary research centers. UAH is regularly ranked among the top 20 universities in research funded by NASA and by the Department of Defense. Located on 432 acres, UAH serves as the anchor tenant for Cummings Research Park, the 2nd-largest research park in the US, hosting over 300 high-tech and engineering companies, such as HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, the Missile Defense Agency, the DIA Missile and Space Intelligence Center, and the U.S. Army Materiel Command.  Dr. Jianqing Liu maintains active collaboration with these IT companies in Huntsville, and he regularly refers students for intership in town.

招生要求如下：
(1) 学习踏实, 对研究充满热情，愿意团队合作，计算机，通信或者其他相关专业的教育背景。
(2) 精通数学和有一定编程能力。
(3) 有效的GRE和TOEFL/IELTS成绩。
