The Advanced Cementitious Materials Lab in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for a graduate research/teaching assistantship at the Ph.D. level. The lab has been fully equipped with various facilities for cement composites' fabrication and characterization. The opportunity will support research on sustainable cement-based infrastructural materials, green concrete, micro-/molecular structure characterization, as well as future interdisciplinary research.
Applicants should have a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Materials Science or a closely related engineering or science discipline. Applicants are expected to have a strong background in cementitious materials and concrete technology. Motivated candidates with hands-on research experience in cement chemistry, durability of concrete and multiscale material characterizations are strongly encouraged to apply.
