UCSD接受offer时的困惑

快到4.15了，决定先接了ucsd的offer，然鹅在accept之后出现了一个让我犹豫的复选框。
”I intend to register at the University of California, San Diego for the quarter stated on my official admit letter.“
该不该勾上这个复选框呢？如果勾上了会不会就必须按时前去了？鉴于当前的疫情形势，我也不知道自己能不能按时前去。如果不勾上也不知道会不会造成严重后果，虽然页面上说”If you must change your decision after submitting, please contact your department.“

顺便问问大家有没有了解到今年UCSD的deferral policy，我问了学校只得到一些语焉不详的答复。

Hi Qi,

1) Please note, the exception below is not considered a deferral (a deferral is a different re-application process and the file gets reviewed again).
(Selecting a deferral decision is different in that there is no guarantee of admission).

2) The exception as stated again for students that accept admission: If a student ACCEPTS admission and there are COVID-19 related visa delays:
If a student that has officially accepted admission to the CSE MS program experiences visa delays for Fall 2020 quarter due to COVID-19-related travel restrictions, the student will be allowed to begin in either the winter 2021 quarter, spring 2021 quarter, or fall 2021 quarter. Again, please note that the exception is for students that officially accepted admission to our CSE MS program (fall 2020). The exception above will only specifically be for cases in the event there is visa delay due to COVID-19 related travel restrictions. Other exceptions will not be permitted for the above policy.

3) All students must maintain the admission requirements (including GPA) and complete the provisional missing documents as stated in their admission offer (and in the online application).

你可以试试不勾就submit
然后你会发现你submit不了，他会跟你说，hey，老铁，form没填完怎么就交了
所以还是要勾，accept后由于签证原因（很tricky，疫情也能导致签证原因，他怎么知道你是什么原因导致的签证原因）可以defer，defer一个或两个quarters
但是你要现在就选defer，可不保你的ad，放到春季或者2021fall就算reapply了

勾那个没事，不勾不能提交

简单来说如果你怕疫情想延期，请选择accept. 疫情导致的签证问题，是保录取延期入学。自己提出defer不一定保证录取。
