The Applied Micro-Bioengineering Lab in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering are seeking 2-3 highly motivated PhD students in the area of biomedical engineering, starting in Fall 2021. The potential PhD students will work on research projects related to microengineered biomedical devices and mechanobiology for disease diagnosis, modeling and treatment.

Prof. Weiqiang Chen's Applied Micro-Bioengineering Lab is mainly interested in interdisciplinary and translational researches that leverage the engineering advances in micro/nanotechnology, biomaterials, microfluidics, and biomanufacturing for new and improved clinical solutions to emerging problems in cancer biology, immune engineering, and stem cell-based regenerative medicine. Multiple research projects in the areas related to Lab-on-a-Chip and Organ-on-a-Chip devices, biomaterials and single-cell sensing for immunomonitoring, cell mechanobiology, stem cell engineering, tumor microenvironments and immunotherapy are available for students and may require close collaborations with NYU School of Medicine.
