I am an assistant professor of computer science at Northwestern University. My research interests focus on applied cryptography, specifically on designing efficient privacy-preserving systems. My research focuses on exploring the concrete efficiency of seemly theoretical constructions and elegant theories that also work well in practice.

I’m looking for motivated and energetic students (as well as post-docs and visiting scholars) to work together on problems in security, privacy, and applied cryptography. Candidates are expected to have a solid background in Computer Science. The highest standard is required for research integrity. No prior experience in cryptography or security is required. However, candidates must be brave and eager to learn new things. Experience in other areas, including theory, database, machine learning, systems, bioinformatics is also a plus.
