lz用自己遇到的几个h1 holder水平不太行来试证明h1没有被发给“应该留在美国”的人才，是不是有点以偏概全 ...

我的意思是  h1b应该发给每个行业最好的那些人而不是我之前知道的那些（在目前经济情况下）

而且我从没说过要堵住车 唉。。 我写什么无所谓 你的这种顽固不化的想法怎样都不会变吧

我同意 写代码这玩意，很多人都能做，但是美国人不做啊，去看看学校cs专业，有美国籍同学没有offer的吗？至少我的经验全部都早早有offer了，再看看美国籍同学的比例，我当时一届120个人cs的，我敢说美国籍的不到12个人 （其他美国STEM专业更少少的可怜，我最初来美国是读物理的，一届一共7个phd，三个中国人，两个伊朗人，一个巴基斯坦的，一个美国人）。我现在公司也算是大厂了，市值也是万亿 以上的，我们组里面10个人，manager 白人， 两个白人男生，一个白人女生，2个印度人，一个南美来白人，三个中国人，这个本土比例远比我们在学校时候高的多，公司每年也有diversity的报告，公司asian比例也不到40%，白人超过50%，这个跟在学校里面的比例完全不成比例。 本土的学生已经获得非常大的优势在求职方面。
. 1point3acres其实你有没有想过，除了保住工作，也要保持美国公司的竞争力，有很多调查都证实过每个普通H1b其实是带来更多的本土工作， 其实H1b被砍了真的实现了，我就是搬去加拿大了，这是公司普遍的政策，visa有问题就去加拿大了。 几十万的H1b持有人，如果加上OPT，也就砍断了美国外来输入高科技人才的途径，即使你认为有些根本水平不咋地。 科技公司大量直接用out source就好了，我所知道的，uber已经开始把一部分包给印度公司，我们自己的组在温哥华的team，从原来的一两个人，今年要扩大到10个人。 印度的team要从原来10多个人，到今年的30个人。 最后都搬走，美国人一样还是没有工作，被折腾的H1b只不过给折腾到别的国家去而已。
当美国的科技公司也逐步搬走的时候，美国还有什么？
最后补充一个，美国2019年新生儿370万，按照比例还不如计划生育大幅下滑的中国，把移民赶走，尤其技术移民赶走，美国最终结果就是和南美一体化。

…idk 我也没有身份问题 但是我和lz想得完全不一样？我周围的美国土生土长的同事朋友都是巨讨厌trump，没人“理性的话会投trump”……大家都想快点把他投走
不明白为啥美籍和留学生的利益就一定要是对立的？尊重lz说出自己意见，但是这只是lz的个人意见。。。

You are making an assumption that foreign workers are not making any contributions to the U.S. economy but rather simply profiting off during economy boom. You are further implying that foreign workers do not make any contributions that can facilitate the economic recovery during downtime. Such assumptions are entirely without merit and justification.

That's exactly how the capital market works. The labor market test and other bureaucratic administrative steps made sure of that. Employers have to go through additional troubles before hiring any foreign workers. Wage is not and should not be the only factor when it comes to hiring. There are many other factors such as prior experience, cultural fit, match of skill sets in specialization, etc. And also, hiring is not a zero sum game.

很多人会说有很多美国人不能胜任一些工作，的确，所以才会有H1B的这个改革。美国不会想要失去一些非常优秀的无法轻易取代的人才(但是不可否认我也觉得新的Bar好高). 但是不是每一个拿H1B的人都这么优秀(我工作中接触过几个H1B的人他们的工作绝对是大部分美国人也可以做的)。

If a country promises work student OPT for three years after graduation, then it should offer OPT for three years after graduation. All students considered employment benefits before choosing a school, and United States is reneging on its promise. When you go to UK, it was clear at the time that post study work permit is not possible and you understand that risk. However, it's not the same case in U.S. since the government promised three years of OPT or six years of H1B and decide to force people out of their jobs half-way through their promised employment period and evict them from the country.

In sum, you strike me as someone who has benefited from the earlier immigration policies and wants to cut the rope for the rest of the people for decades to come. So --

If you promised three years of OPT or six years of H1B, you should follow up on that promise instead of forcing people out of their jobs. They already have jobs so it's not stealing.

If you think wage is the only factor, then good luck with the next abusive toxic colleague who will sit next to you.

You are lucky that things have been mostly smooth for you. Many others came to America at an early age or spent much more time in the country than you but are still hurt by Donald Trump's racist and illegal policies. You don't know the stories behind them but yet to make those blunt judgements. Please, stop your claim of speaking on half of Chinese Americans. You don't represent any of the diversity values that many Chinese Americans believe in, and those are the ones that bring you into this country on the first place.
