套磁信求分析！

Thank you for writing to me and providing both your CV and an example of your writing. With your research experience in top labs, I think you'll be a strong candidate in PhD programs.

My primary appointment is with xxx, where the PhD program is centralized. That means that candidates apply directly to the program (xxx), and then they perform rotation projects to choose a thesis lab. I can take up to 3 PhD students at once (I have 2 students now), so there is space within my lab.

We are doing some research related to xxx, although we are not currently studying xxx. We are also doing some work on relationships between A and B in undergraduate students. I have a colleague with expertise in X (XXX) and he also does work on XXX, so there is potential for overlap/synergy if you are interested in combining C and D.(我在之前的套磁信中附了我想做的方向，而这段话他就在说，虽然他们lab的主要方向是A，但是我想做的A和B的结合的话，他是可以和另一位prof合作，帮我做完这个project)

我看了前两段感觉套磁没用了，强committee制他也帮不上啥忙，我能申上就申上，反正他们lab有位置（但不一定轮的到我）。可为啥最后又要和我聊研究方向？
