Multiple Ph.D. openings in Dr. Farhad Imani’s research group at University of Connecticut

Dr. Imani’s research group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Connecticut has multiple Ph.D. openings for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022. In this group, we focus on data-driven modeling and analysis of advanced manufacturing systems for process monitoring and control, system diagnostics and prognostics, and quality and reliability improvement.

Some example topics include:
1)        Sensor-based process monitoring of additive manufacturing;
2)        Bayesian optimization and statistical learning;
3)        Control theory and sequential decision making;
4)        Computer simulation and optimization.

Requirements:
1)        Undergraduate or master students with a background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields;
2)        Strong skills in programming and mathematical modeling;
3)        Strong communication skill will be a plus;
4)        Please also refer to graduate school of University of Connecticut for minimum admission requirements.
