The E-H2O Research Group in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of New Mexico is seeking a Ph.D. student interested in environmental engineering to start in Spring 2014. The University of New Mexico is located in the beautiful city of Albuquerque (http://www.cabq.gov/), in the vicinity of Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories.
The E-H2O Research Group will pursue interdisciplinary research of biogeochemical processes occurring at the interface of water and energy that affect the cycle of metals and radionuclides in the environment. Students with interest and previous experience in the application of spectroscopy, microscopy, and environmental chemistry to study molecular and macro-scale phenomena in natural and engineered environments are especially encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to candidates holding a B.S. or M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, or any related field of engineering. The following application documents are required: cover letter, CV, and name of three references. Interested applicants should contact Dr. José M. Cerrato (jcerrato@unm.edu). |
