Young people should be encouraged to pursue long-term, realistic goals rather than seek immediate fame and recognition.


首先，我感觉 long-term, realistic goals是两个话题。一个是长期目标，一个是现实的目标，他们分别对应的是短期的，和非现实的，和 immediate fame and recognition并不对立啊。
其次， immediate fame and recognition的理解？一夜成名？迅速的成功？看到网上还有翻译成轻而易举的成名，这哪里有啊？很多人理解这个是指短期目标，但我觉得 immediate fame and recognition不一定短期啊，成名大多也是要有积累的，也可以是一种长期的目标。而在的某些人看来，成名也就是他们的realistic目标。而本题rather than是一个取舍，前后的对象应该对立啊。。。。


我自己写的时候，不是讨论长期短期，而是实际和一刻的辉煌，后者的例子是罗马斗牛士，一生等待着死亡的英雄时刻

而且我真的很想知道immediate fame and recognition的含义，可以理解为一刻的辉煌吗？MW的Definition of IMMEDIATE1

我感觉就是说逻辑，空间，时间上没有就间隔。尤其是时间（4a，b）感觉就是指near future。难道题目该翻译成，近期的名声？但是近期的名声并不等同于大家所说的    短期目标啊？？？谁说短期的目标就一定是成名？   即使只是讨论近期的认可和名声，那么他们有什么不好呢？可以被认可，不管是现在还是未来不都是需要的？而且为什么名声和认可一定要扯上immediate这个形容词？？？？？？

翻译成眼前的名声的话， 这个和长远里以矛盾在哪？？  最多我只能想到  潜心学术和追逐名誉。。这和眼前，长远没关系啊。。。

比如，你现在光顾眼前的利益挖煤矿获得了认可，但这是不长久的；但是如果你投身于更长远的能源开发会得到永久的认可，我想可能就是说要胸怀远大吧，但是realistic可能是对长远的目标的一个补充限制，这个长远的目标必须是realistic goal， 就能理解这么多了

再一个例子：本来可以再多努力一点就可以有更大的成就，但是却只图快点出成绩，得名誉，而没有付出更多努力，
