PhD student recruitment --- biomedical research

Dr. Jiujiu Yu from the Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences at the University of Nebraska Lincoln is recruiting a highly-motivated Ph.D. student for Fall 2021. Dr. Yu’s research group is interested in the roles of chronic inflammation in obesity and aging. We also actively work on dietary vesicle-like nanoparticles and their anti-inflammatory functions in the context of obesity and aging using cell culture and mouse models.

Minimum qualification includes a B.S. or equivalent degree in biology, biochemistry, nutrition, or related field. Previous M.S. research experience in one or more of the following areas (obesity, metabolism, aging, extracellular vesicles, dietary molecules, mouse models, microbiota) is highly desirable.

Department requirement:

Grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Preferred minimum GRE scores: 145 Verbal; 150 Quantitative; 3.0 Analytical (writing).
Required minimum TOEFL score (International students only): 550 paper; 79 internet; or 6.5 IELTS.
