Job description
Current advances in mobile systems and machine learning are making eye-tracking on the verge of becoming pervasive. Indeed, eye-tracking has shown great potential to enable a new genre of cognition context sensing systems with great societal impacts. For instance, in the healthcare domain, eye tracking can be used to monitor the physical and psychological well-being, such as Alzheimer’s disease, bipolar disorder, and Autism. In the context of industrial maintenance and training, eye tracking can be coupled with AR/VR systems to monitor the user’s “brainpower''. In this project, we are seeking a highly motivated candidate to work on the intersection of mobile computing systems and machine learning to address the fundamental challenges in developing efficient cognitive context sensing systems using eye-tracking. Specifically, the candidate will contribute towards the following directions:

Major requirements for this position are:
a. The applicant should hold a Master's degree with excellent marks in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
b. Demonstrated skill or experience in the following areas will be considered as an advantage:
(1) design and programming for mobile or embedded systems, (2) deep learning and associated framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras), (3) signal processing for time-series and image data, (4) edge and distributed computing.
c. Strong passion for researching mobile computing systems and machine learning.
d. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
e. Successful candidate is expected to be a team player.
