Academic Readiness, Research, and Interest Statement. ----
Please summarize your academic preparation and training and tell us about how we are suited to work together. This statement should be maximum 1,500 words and discuss the following:
What skills have you learned from classes, lab classes or research experiences, scholarly writing, jobs or presentations? Whenever possible, give specific examples and tell us what you took away from the experience, not just what happened to you.
What research have you conducted, if any? Please be specific. Give a project title or focus, research mentor, your specific role, your hypothesis, what you learned and the outcome. If there were challenges, don’t be afraid to mention what you learned from them.
Why are you a good fit for the PME program, and why is the PME program a good fit for you? What faculty do you see as potential mentors or collaborators? Are there research areas which you think are well suited to your interests?
Are there any aspects of the program that are of particular interest to you (opportunities for collaboration with Argonne, Chicago Quantum Exchange, multi-advisor opportunities, UChicago Hospital, MRSEC, STAGE, centers, etc.)
Briefly discuss your longer-term professional goals. ..
