紧急请教大家OFFER中的一段英文

学校发的RA信中有这么一段话：”
Your research responsibilities will require approximately 20 hours of effort per week during the academic year. You will work
under the supervision of Dr. XXX, who will be responsible for determining your specific duties. Beginning in your
second academic year, we are committed to your continued support for up to five years for your doctoral studies as long as you
are making satisfactory progress towards your Ph.D. degree.

请问最后一句话中说的up to five years包括第一年吗？就是说我这个博士到底总共是读5年还是6年？

是不是说之后的得考核啊?

Beginning in your
second academic year, we are committed to your continued support for up to five years for your doctoral studies as long as you
are making satisfactory progress towards your Ph.D. degree.

我觉得意思是这个support最高可以到你六年级的时候
不过PhD么 七八年的也大有人在 不要慌

只是说学校肯定能再出5年的钱。

“up to five years for your doctoral studies”——应该说的是总共5年。


各个学校基本都有类似的话，不用太在意。。。

不包括第一年，是说给你的钱最多给5年，和你几年毕业木有关系
