学校OIA 为难人，不给办CPT怎么办

楼主是天坑专业phd找了暑假ds的实习，本来高高兴兴的拿着offer letter开始办cpt。 在这之前已经跟公司的HR沟通过，希望他能把jd改成和phd专业相关一些。我自认为HR给的描述已经和自己专业联系上了， 然而学校OIA office的人仍然觉得jd描述的没有和本专业直接相关。下面这是office的人回的邮件。请问有没有碰到这种情况并且能很好解决的。且并不知道为什么学校要为难自己的学生。

For our office to approve your CPT application, the majority of your job duties would need to be directly related to your degree. I would need an updated job offer letter or a confirmation from your employer by business email of your job description.

I ran into the same thing when I applied for my CPT a few years ago. I even expected that would happen before I went to their office, after going through some forums where there were students complained about their experience with IOA for the same reason.
The coordinator/staff or whatever they call themselves are different, unfortunately the one I scheduled an appointment with is a 'difficult' one, or I would call him a dumb Axx. Anyway, for the same reason ("not related to your major") he wanted to reject me and I was prepared for that. Skipping the details (e.g. he said for example, CS is to build websites...), we argued a lot. My conclusion is "You do not know my major and I'm trying to explain it to you, if you still don't follow, find your manager and I want talk to her."
This guy find his manager, again I explained everything that I've told him, emphasizing what HR has made clear in their job description, this is exactly what are major is about and I can loop in my advisor if you need supportive statement.
Basically nothing changed in my explain but I was escalating the discussion letting them know that I won't let this go until they convince me they are right - how come? This is my major.
The manager saw that I'm not stepping back at all, even though that dumb axx was still "but... but..." while there was literally nothing after that "but". She said let's approve it, but "it's for your good that if it is called out, you may have trouble in future for your OPT." I don't give a dame since you're just ... stupid.
Other than that, if they still don't do their job, again, escalate the conversation to your Dean - student employment rate is an important reputation/performance index for a school, why your employee are bringing in trouble to that just because of their ignorance?

Bear with me, I don't have Chinese type-writing on my computer here but hope this could help a bit.

一般都是最初级的officer最严格。。一是害怕担责任，二是拿着鸡毛当令箭。。我之前也被一个international officer卡了，就只能使劲改，然后写了长长的letter把哪门课哪个内容和公司岗位职责的关系一一列出，letter下面manager签字，后来就给我过了。其实再不过还可以直接找她上级，然后找自己系里的小秘和advisor帮着都写信背书一下。

求赶紧爆学校，好让后来人避坑

接着改或者办pre-completion opt 还能怎么办 除非你能说服学校

attach 相关的manager

你是CPT学校，还是正规在读？
现在说可能有点晚了。入学的时候，这种IOE的人，以及你学院的行政，都应该先打点好，送个小礼物啥的。
cpt就是学校的discretion大过天，它让你过就过，不过就不过。

是正规学校在读，碰到了一个刚刚上岗的韩裔小姑娘来审材料😭

换个oie的工作人员 我一般看一个人不好说话 转头就问下一个 碰见好说话的 抓住一顿弄

找career center的advisor说明情况，看能不能请他帮忙协助沟通，通常系上对于学生找到实习都很高兴的

找导师写说明，然后找律师，一找律师他们就老实了
