【求助求意见】住在客厅被公寓警告告上法庭？？

求助地里的小伙伴们

楼主最近遇到了一件糟心事。事情是这样的，我们本来租了2b2b的罗岛MP的房子，然后房子是明年到期，我们在客厅打了一个不封顶的隔断，就是类似衣柜那样的，然后两个衣柜中间加了一个滑动门。没有更改任何的结构，衣柜也没有用钉子钉在墙上，就是最常见的那种不封顶的柜子式隔断。然后公寓维修工发现了，就直接给举报给management team了，management team就说了以下一段话：
It has come to our attention that there is an illegal wall/ divider in your apartment. This is in direct violation of Section 10 of your Lease (Changes and Alterations to Apartment). You must remove and dispose of the illegal wall/divider (including door) and restore the altered area. If you do not comply, the illegal wall/ divider will be promptly removed by Management and each resident will be charged.
然后具体而言我们签的section10是什么呢，我找出来看了一下：
You cannot build in, add to, change or alter, the Apartment in any way, including wallpapering, painting, repainting, or other decorating, without getting Owner's written consent before You do anything. You must not change the plumbing, ventilating, air-conditioning, electric or heating systems. You cannot install in the Apartment any of the following:
dishwasher machines, clothes washing or drying machines, electric stoves, garbage disposal units, heating, ventilating or air conditioning units, or any other equipment which, in Owner's sole opinion, will overload the existing wiring installation or plumbing in the Building or interfere with the use of such electrical wiring or plumbing facilities by other tenants of the Building. Also, You cannot place in the Apartment water-filled furniture. You must remove any alterations and installations before the end of the Term at your own cost. Owner is not required to do or pay for any work unless stated in this Lease.
楼主看了一下这一条，心想我们也没有改变apartment啊，充其量加了两个衣柜和一个滑动门。然后联系了公寓，公寓又给出了第二个说法，说我们这个隔断有fire issue，那行，我也退了一步，我说我们把门拆了，这样就变成两个不封顶的柜子了，这总可以了吧，而且厨房也可以通风，也不会再有fire issue了。公寓听完之后哑口无言，有一点气急败坏，开始提出了第三个说法，这个living room不能住人，You can't sleep in the living room. 那说到这份上我就不能接受了，我在整租的公寓里面，living room放了一张床，两个衣柜，也违法吗？而且楼主参考了leasing contract，里面签的人都是合规的，同时里面没任何条款说living room里面不可以给人睡觉居住。因为一个隔断的事情，搞得客厅不能住人？？所以我就硬钢了回去，说，我们不是不配合，但是我们同意你们的任何合法诉求，如果你们有什么要求，请引用相对应的条款。公寓听完之后就歇斯底里了，说什么我们没办法convincing你们，那之后律师会来联系你们，你们以后住公寓的reference check我们也会把你们的糟糕表现如实说出，你们以后也别想租房子了！
楼主虽然很气，但是很想息事宁人，而公寓这么一而再再而三的加码，而且要求逐渐不合理，这就让楼主觉得有点过分了，还是希望能够保护自己的合法权益。所以想请问一下地里的大家，我们遇到这种情况该怎么好？如果联系律师打官司，胜算大吗？还是说应该就和公寓老实认错，然后全部搬走？


. ----附件：隔断的照片和我们和公寓的沟通记录。目前因为公寓给我们的拆隔断ddl是3.2日，但是公寓没办法给出进一步的解释，所以我们发邮件，拒绝公寓动我们的东西。

补充一下，楼主住在nyc，关键我们不是不想解决，如果公寓给出合理的依据，我们可以做出合理的变更。但是公寓一而再再而三层层加码，无视法律法规和leasing contract，也不给我们解释任何东西，直接下通牒影响我们的正常生活，这个是楼主不能接受的。

太搞笑了，在蓝州我还没见过房东和房客搞能占到便宜的。告诉他快找律师。因为持续骚扰你们，先不交房租。让他走2年清退程序再说

还有你为什么要给房东发照片，你自己家里什么样和他们没什么关系。要想检查和拍照让他们那法官的warrant

你可能不太懂nyc当地的法律。这个叫partial wall，法律上讲是家具的一种。如果想具体了解的话可以自己Google一下

Options are often being limited to partial walls (that stop at least one foot from the ceiling) and which are considered furniture.

记得加州租房确实不能living room住人，而且可能阻碍通行的确实需要防火，management嘴比较笨而已。你就别闹了，别被叫了警察影响就大了。

那你就打官司吧 最后亏更多的还是你自己 明明就是你的不对在先 公寓的确不够人性 但是美国很多时候都是按规则来的

nyc这么住不是很正常嘛。。。可以换一家公寓吗？
