【学制及奖学金介绍】
香港理工大学直博学制为四年，如有硕士学位，则学制为三年。博士研究生奖学金为每月大约18000港币起，优秀者还可申请香港博士奖学金项目（约25800港币每月）。

Phd Student Positions in Geotechnical Engineering at Hong Kong Polytechnic University

PhD student (September Entry)

Supervisor:
Dr. Andy Leung obtained his PhD degree from the University of Cambridge, and iscurrently an associate professor at PolyU. His research interests are smoothedparticle hydrodynamics (sph) method for large deformation problems, structure-soil-pile interaction, applicationof VR and machine learning in geotechnical engineering, and spatial variabilityof soil properties. Qualifications:
Applicantsshould have
1) A master or bachelor degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering,computer science, mathematics or other related subjects, with a GPA higherthan 80/100;
2) An overall score of at least 6.5 (at least 6 in writing) in the internationalenglish language testing system (IELTS); or a test of english as a foreignlanguage (TOEFL) score of 80 (at least 23 in writing) or above for theinternet-based test or 550 or above for the paper-based test. 3) The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and good use of oral and written English.
4) Applicants with experience in data analysis, programming and publishing Englishresearch articles are preferred.

Normal Period and Scholarship:
Forapplicants with a bachelor's degree, the normal study period is 4 years. And for applicantswith a master's degree, the normal study period is 3 years. Successful applicants will receive studentships (approx. hk$18,000 per month), covering tuition and stipend during the normal period. The department will also provide additionalresearch and travel support and offer a range of professional developmentworkshops and events for our phd students. Outstanding candidates can alsoapply for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) (approx. hk$25,800/permonth). please find more information at:
