2025 Fall 港本(HKUST)数学经济专业直申港/美博 PhD Economics 求定位

感兴趣的领域是Labor Econ, Public Finance/Econ, Urban Econ。求定位以及这个level的一些学校例子。感激不尽！

研究经历主要有3段
第一段是本校本科生科研，只进行了几个月，并没有太多实际的产出，和教授没怎么聊过，所以大概可以略过

第二段时间非常长，接近2年，其中包括暑期曾经全职做过3个月，这一段主要是跟一名本校的Associate Professor of Finance，和他不同的合作者做过几段项目，都和Corporate Finance/Public Finance有关，对方答应会写强推，然而提及美国申请竞争可能相当大。原文如下：
these econ programs are rather competitive these days and the incoming students often have a 1-2 year pre-doc experience after their undergraduate studies (or strong math econ/research oriented Masters). It is difficult to say how competitive your profile is for Top 50-60 programs. I think your research experience is equivalent to that and hopefully these schools understand that. But even UST Finance receives 100-150 applications…

第三段时间大概几个月，是我本科的Honor Thesis（Idea是我自己想，和劳动经济学及教育经济学相关）的Supervisor，目前是本校Associate Professor过往曾经在Cornell当AP，Honor Thesis 虽然因为学校拒绝了数据请求没写到最后，但是中间有过Proposal的答辩而他对于我的Proposal表现相当满意，也答应了会写推荐信。

目前三封推荐信是第二第三段科研的教授，再加上第二段科研的教授的一个Co-author，Co-author基本可以算作平推。想申请美国Top 50-60的项目机会大不大，目前准备申请的有本校(HKUST)博，在Early Admission Camp拿了Waitlist，美国那边申请了UC Riverside的PhD Economics。

本科GPA 3.729/4.3 (没办法给分太烂了，就这已经是~Top 8%了)，一些重要的数学课程如Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Statistics都是A+/A。经济学课程也全是A+/A。没有读PhD课程。

曾经在Northwestern University, IL有过一学期的交换，最后的GPA是3.9/4.0。
