H1B approve之后 申请OPT-EXTENSION

目前H1B approved 了， 考虑到有被lay off 的可能，正准备申请opt-extension
现在拿到的新I20 POST-completion OPT 是到9/30/2015. (OPT 卡上是到7/2, 应该是加上cap-gap)
H1B 生效是10/1, stem-opt recommendation 也是10/1. 这个可以通过吗？ 通过了之后，如果雇主revoke H1B 我还有opt身份吗？

对。比较担心的是H1B 撑不到10.1 就要走人了。。。。

我问过我学校的oiss工作人员，然后收到了下面的答复：
If the H is approved,  your OPT will end on the day before your approved H starts.  The approved change of status to H1 will take place automatically.  If you decide that you want to apply for the 17-month extension after approval of the H but before the start of the H status, be sure to have the H withdrawn.

We may still have issues as the change of status will be entered into the SEVIS system at the time of adjudication.  The withdrawal request may not get updated in the SEVIS system.  If this happens, SEVIS will still end your F-1 program due to the approved H.  The ended record could impact the 17- month extension request if it is still pending.  

It's still possible that the 17-month extension could be approved before the H start, and the SEVIS record still ended based on the change of status.  This will be hard and time consuming to get corrected.

总之就是很蛋疼T_T，建议咨询学校的OISS。

又做了点research，发现了这个Students whose applications are received before the EAD card expires will be able to continue employment while the extension application is pending until they receive the final decision from USCIS on the application or for 180 days, whichever comes first.

所以我觉得extension pending期间，opt过期应该也没事了，早点申extension能留出点时间应对突发情况

同问，现在是想入职前换公司。不知道如果revoke或者transfer失败是否会影响OPT

请问新的I20是要和学校要还是会自动寄过来？EAD卡的有效时间怎么更新呢

谢谢！要是这样的话，stem 就没法申请了。没拿到新I20 时候 还以为可以同时STEM 和H1B，公司撤销H1B 还可以OPT，现在感觉没那么简单。还是尽量保住H1B。没退路。。。。

看帖子里，众说纷纭，目前，貌似不能10.1 之前转，如果可以转，transfer失败倒是很少见。我也怕公司revoke. 目前我还是心存侥幸，希望10.1之前没问题。走一步算一步！

应该不会自动寄，我给他们寄过去表格（在ISSI网站上面有），打了电话。他们给我寄得。新的I20上有写CAP GAP到9.30 和 H1B approved 信息。应该用新的I20 和H1B 资料可以证明身份

还在等APPROVAL，但是HR已经在问我OPT到期之后的工作许可，这个怎么搞
