现在持STEM OPT Extension回国，会因为STEM OPT延期取消而F1签

估计问题不大， 因为那个签证官好像不大清楚这个资料。 所以就问要了Approval notice，然后我就把approval notice和OPT &OPT extension EAD都给他了

问了学校的OIS， 得到如下回复，供参考

As it stands right now, the STEM extension is still in effect. The STEM-OPT lawsuit has not yet officially abolished the STEM extension opportunity. The US Dept of Homeland Security is working to comply with the judge’s orders and “save” the STEM-OPT.

Here is where the situation sits right now:  On October 2, 2015, DHS submitted a new proposed STEM OPT rule for OMB review (Office of Management and Budget). After OMB approval, DHS can publish the proposed rule in the Federal Register and open the proposal for public comment, at which time details of the proposal will be known. After public comment is received and analyzed, DHS will then have to publish a final rule in the Federal Register before the rule becomes effective.

OIS is not aware of an directive given to the US Dept of State consular officers to deny F-1 visas for students engaged in the STEM OPT.
