phd套辞,不知道老师这么说还有戏么

最近几天开始套磁,发出去很多封但是就这一个老师回复了,大家帮我看看吧,感谢,第一次不知道水的深浅.

I am still looking for Ph.D. students,  but I will move to NC State (ECE department) in January 2017 and so I need the Ph.D. students to be admitted at NC State.
I am currently focusing on parallel computing, but I may do more computer architecture-focused research depending on funding. However, there are several faculty working in computer architecture and parallel computing. Therefore, if you get admitted, you may be able to choose between multiple advisors depending on your interests.

Yes: you need to be admitted at NC State to be able to work with me. So, if you are seriously interested, please apply to that school.

. 1point3acres.com I understood that you are interested in hardware – I am not sure which part of my email suggested you otherwise. And, yes, even if you work with hardware, you need to write a lot of software (either C/C++ simulators, or VHDL/Verilog and such). I have a variety of projects spanning from more software-oriented to more hardware-oriented. I don’t have a project at the moment on general purpose chip multiprocessor systems, because I am less interested now in this particular topic since a lot of progress has been already made since my 2006 paper and I feel that some of the contributions there (like the ones you described in your previous email) are fairly incremental and would not make much impact. However, I appreciate your coming out with your own idea.

So, if you want to work with me, you should show some flexibility. If your heart is set on a particular topic, then I suggest to contact several professors, so that you can find the one who is more interested in the particular topics that intrigue you. At NC State there are faculty that are focusing more of the kind of research of my CF’06 paper that you mentioned.

So, again, my suggestion is to apply to NC State. I can assign you some project to test your ability, but you should show some flexibility on your interests, and there is no point for me to assign you a project if you don’t apply to the university.

所以这是强委员会是么?套磁还有用么?需要接着看她的文章么?主要是目前就这一个回我了,所以我感觉如果有空我觉得还是看一下比较好吧,

套磁的目的是探讨双方合作的可能性，如果match那确实可能增加录取成功率，但这个结果只是附带的。

很明显这个老师对你很感兴趣而且很缺人。。这种情况下你提交了申请老师可能就会给你推荐到committee。。老师对你不感兴趣不可能回复这么多的。。

LZ的关注点真是不像一个要读PhD的人啊……
而且我觉得教授的邮件写得很清楚了呀，首先肯定是有委员会的，否则不会说“if you get admitted, you may be able to choose...”这些话，但是教授自己肯定对录取过程能施加影响，否则给你project来看看你的能力也没什么意义。
感觉教授RP还是不错的，回了这么长的邮件，还和你讲清楚跟她的话research interest要有一点flexibility
关键在于，LZ到底想不想跟这个教授读博，对她的研究方向感不感兴趣，以及愿不愿意去NCSU。
如果只是为了陶瓷而陶瓷，那建议还是礼貌地回绝不要浪费双方时间了

肯定是觉得research match阿,而且也很喜欢她的,只不过当初在第一封套的时候可能就读了她很早的一篇文章,所以可能下周我再读一下她最近写的论文然后再和她商量一下????

你联系的那个老板是从密苏里move 去北卡的吗

因为你的主帖里说“所以这是强委员会是么?套磁还有用么?需要接着看她的文章么?”，给我的感觉你套磁只是为了增加录取的成功率。

我觉得如果你打算申请了的话，可以在下封邮件里说你提交申请以后会通知她。至于文章，倒是不需要直接埋头去仔细读，大略地看看她最近的工作，然后和她讨论一下如果录取的话未来的research的方向比较好。

嘛......当初看了她的research，觉得挺感兴趣的就发邮件过去问了。不过话说回来，套磁本来就是在增加录取的结果吧，尤其是phd？？？？难道我错误理解了套磁这个作用？？
