Dr. Lu Su and Dr. Jing Gao are assistant professors in the department of Computer Science and Engineering, theState University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY Buffalo). They are looking forprospective Ph.D students and visiting scholars. Dr. Su’s research interests lie inthe general areas of Internet of things, cyber-physical systems, wireless andsensor networks, mobile and crowd sensing systems, as well as big data analysis.Thus far, he has published over 60 papers in various top conferences/journalssuch as MobiCom, SenSys, MobiHoc, Infocom, ICDCS, ICNP, IPSN, RTSS, UbiComp,TMC, TOSN, and TVT. Shehas published 1 book, 3 book chapters, and over 90 papers in prestigiousscientific venues, including KDD, SIGMOD, VLDB,NIPS, WWW, WSDM, SDM, ICDM, ECML/PKDD, and TKDE. Computer Science and EngineeringDepartment
Housed in a new $75M building, andas a part of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the ComputerScience and Engineering department is one the largest departments of SUNYBuffalo. The department currently has 38 tenured/tenure-track faculty, 7teaching faculty, and approximately 900 undergraduate majors, 450 masterstudents, and 160 PhD students. Two members of our faculty currently hold keyuniversity leadership positions and eight members of our faculty are IEEEand/or ACM Fellows. As of Oct 2016, the total amount of new research grantsreceived has already exceeded $12M.
