In revising this letter, we tried to look at the letter from the point of view of the recommender. As we understand it, a person who occupies such a high position is very direct in his/her manner of evaluating. Thus, as a final note, a good reference letter must contain a positive reference WITHOUT going over the top. A letter that has too much detail, an overboard reference, and is over one page is generally just tossed. Worse, it puts a bad light on EVERYTHING the student has done.
