想问一下poly的CE申请难度大概是多少?有在ce的同学吗?一般都是什么硬件和本科背景?

比较推荐cs呀, 软件才是未来发展方向.

Dear NYU-Poly Students,. 1point3acres
-baidu 1point3acres
January 1, 2014, is fast approaching when the merger between NYU and NYU-Poly will be finalized. While many processes and procedures that affect faculty, students and staff, have already transitioned as part of the affiliation of the two institutions in 2008, others will take effect at the point of merger and beyond. This compendium is intended to describe changes that will take effect in beginning in January, and provide links to where you can obtain additional information.. 1point 3 acres

Name

As of January 1, 20-14 NYU-Poly becomes the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering.

NYU NetID – You Can’t Do Much Without It. From 1point 3acres bbs

If you haven’t yet activated your NYU NetID, please do so now. Each member of the NYU-Poly community already has one—it’s on the back of your ID badge. (See below.) Without it, you will not be able to access NYU Home, which is required to access almost every other system at NYU. To activate your NYU NetID, follow these simple steps before January 1, 2014.

Student Identification Cards

New NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering students will be issued ID cards in January at the start of the Spring 2014 semester with Orientation activities. Your current ID cards as continuing students will continue to work as before. We will notify you of details about changing ID cards, including the on-line process, in a future communication.

E-mail

All newly admitted matriculating students already have been assigned NYU email addresses. As of May 2013, all NYU-Poly students enrolled in a degree granting program became eligible for NYU email addresses via Google Apps for Education (Gmail). Students have been encouraged to migrate their NYU-Poly Microsoft-based accounts to their new NYU Gmail accounts which assign (@)nyu.edu extensions.
. From 1point 3acres bbs
.--The new email accounts offer students a 25GB mailbox for life, and access to robust features like:

Google Drive, a document sharing and storage service that allows them to create, save and share documents instantly.
Google Groups, which may be used as mailing lists, a shared inbox, or as a group e-mail alias..google  и
Google Calendar, a service that makes it easy to find and schedule meetings with other members of the NYU community.
Goggle Contacts, a central repository for all contacts.
Google Sites, which allows for easy building a publishing of websites.
Google Chat, NYU Chat allows NYU community members to communicate in real-time via instant messaging.
To learn more about Gmail features, new users should visit the Google Apps Learning Center at http://learn.googleapps.com..

Students in need of assistance with activating their new email accounts, or with migrating old account information to their new account, may contact the NYU-Poly Help Desk at help@poly.edu or (718) 260-3123.. 1point 3 acres

Facilities Services

The NYU Client Services Center (CSC) is the NYU community’s first stop for service requests related to facilities requests (e.g. pickup of trash, changing of light bulbs, etc.) (Faculty and staff should be aware that certain requests for service may be charged to the requesting department or office.). Beginning with the new year, the Client Services Center will be available for all NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering faculty, staff and students, as well. The CSC is staffed to receive requests every day from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. on weekdays from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. on weekends. For urgent requests (e.g. water leak, heat outage, etc.) outside of CSC operating hours, please contact the Front Desk/Public Safety Officer located in the building lobby or call the Department of Public Safety at 212-998-2222. For more information on how to access the Client Services Center click here.

Public Safety in Brooklyn

With the merger, NYU in Brooklyn’s round-the-clock security coverage will be provided by NYU Public Safety. There will be NYU public safety officers located at posts in the Rogers Hall main lobby and the Othmer Residence Hall lobby. NYU Public Safety will coordinate coverage and security activities with Summit Security, the firm that currently provides security coverage for NYU-Poly.

Career Development

The Wasserman Center for Career Development has worked closely with engineering students since initially affiliating. The office will continue to serve all NYU students in Brooklyn, including NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering students, with robust, comprehensive career development programs, coaching, and resources.

International Students and Scholars

With the merger on January 1, 2014, the NYU-Poly Office of International Students will officially change its name to the NYU Office of Global Services (OGS). The Brooklyn location of OGS will continue to operate in Room 230 of Dibner Hall (5 MetroTech Center). International students and scholars at the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering will be able to access programs and services related to immigration advising and documentation in Brooklyn. NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering international students and scholars will be able to take advantage of enhanced services, including student advising assistance at OGS’s Washington Square location. Visit the Global Services webpage for more information. You may contact Dr. David B. Austell  (david.austell@nyu.edu), Assistant Vice President and Director, with any questions or concerns.

Spiritual Life

Religious clubs in Brooklyn have the opportunity to work with counterparts at Washington Square, and are encouraged to do so. Each club will be able to work with a primary advisor at the NYU Center for Student Activities, Leadership & Service (CSALS), with the opportunity to have a secondary or co-advisor from a different area. Many Washington Square-based religious groups utilize chaplains for this role, and the same opportunity is available for the Brooklyn-based religious student clubs.
. Χ
Athletics

In 2013-14, NYU-Poly students will continue to compete as a member of the Skyline Athletic Conference and NYU teams will continue to compete as a member of the University Athletic Association. The two institutions requested and received a waiver from the NCAA to allow NYU-Poly to continue as an NCAA Division III active member in good standing for the entire 2013-14 academic year in order to allow NYU-Poly student-athletes the opportunity to continue to compete in the Skyline Conference for the full academic year.

Following this, the combined NYU Department of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation (with a single NCAA membership) will host 23 varsity sports, 28 intercollegiate club sports and yield a significant increase in intercollegiate, intramural and recreational sports opportunities for all NYU students. For example, many NYU students will have access to varsity baseball and softball for the first time.

Additional information, including details on how faculty, staff, students, families and alumni can access NYU sports and recreation facilities can be found at: gonyuathletics.com/documents/2013/9/19/2013-14_Coles_Information_and_Procedures.pdf..

Student Health

All NYU students also have access to amazing broad set of services available at the Square. Please visit the NYU Student Health Center for more information.

Campus Services, Campus Life and Student Activities

Information on a variety of campus services, including dining services, the NYU Bookstore, and access to the Kimmel Center and Skirball Center for the Performing Arts can be found here. See campus service document for more information.
. 1point3acres.com
All NYU School of Engineering students have the opportunity to join NYU All-Square clubs and associations, as well as attend social events offered at the Washington Square campus. In addition to the 40+ student organizations located in Brooklyn, students are able to participate in the 300+ All-Square student organizations that focus on interests related to cultural, social, religion, ethnic, art, politics and community service. Please visit the following link for more details: http://www.nyu.edu/life/student- ... -poly-students.html.

Student clubs and organizations at NYU-Poly are currently able to reserve rooms in the Kimmel Center. In addition, the NYU Center for Student Activities, Leadership & Service (CSALS) currently recognizes All Square clubs that originate in Brooklyn.

NYU School of Engineering students are eligible to join fraternities and sororities based at NYU’s Washington Square campus, and will be eligible to participate in Athletic Collegiate Conference and Intramural and Club teams beginning September 2014. In the meantime, students are welcome to participate in club sports and intramurals offered in Broooklyn. Also, students are able to attend events and programs offered in Washington Square, along with those held at our downtown Brooklyn location.. Waral dи,
