My chinese typing skills is horrible, so I'll post in English here, but please feel free to respond in Chinese.
I'm at a crossroad in my career of whether to go into data engineering, or a new niche title called analytics engineering (similar to FB data eng perhaps). From what I understand, analytics engineering is the layer on top of data engineering, in the sense that it abstracts a lot of the data engineering layer for the business users that need access to data. So typical day I presume would be connecting with business stakeholders, writing data pipelines in SQL and Python, and occasionally more infra/traditional data engineering stuff. The benefit of analytics engineering is that likely it will be less stressful and it is what my career so far has pretty much been about. But my concern is how niche it is and how this job might evolve over time. .google и
Does anyone currently work in such a role and would be willing to share some thoughts on this? Or people who don't, I'd like to know your thoughts as well.
