Some miscellaneous information:

• According to the Director of Marketing Science RD, the Director of Core Data Science, the Director of UX Research directly report to the same VP
• According to HR of Core Data Science, right now they don't have headcounts within Core Statistics for PhD Grad.
• According to a research scientist in Core Data Science presenting at JSM, 1) there are about 100 people in Core Data Science, half of whom writes production code, 2) and among whom there are lots of PhDs with background in Operation Research, 3) the Core Statistics group has been really small (10+ people or so). He did not disclose anything about the Core Statistics group after the Research Manager Sean Taylor left for Lyft.

For that I don't know. Among the data scientists I know, not many of them are from OR background. According to them, optimization is important in ads bidding.

Would you mind sharing more detailed information? Which teams are they one and what problems they are working on?

Sean走了之后已经没有core stats组了，原来的组员都分流去了别的group；CDS大体上分成computational social science和methodology两大块，我觉得methodology那边更适合你，具体信息其实CDS已经有官方网页了，可以直接搜索到（关键词 core data science facebook）；CDS的包和PhD码农是一样的。祝好运！

我觉得google好多也是operational research背景。。

这个position我面过。当然我面的是exp hired。 他家director onsite的时候暗示，他们特别在乎学校出身， 所以虽然我不是很熟悉causal 的东西，也愿意给我机会。package和ds-analytics 一样。  我也面过f家core ds， 不过fail了，所以我也不知道core包有多大。
