The system research group in the CSE division of Louisiana State University is recruiting 2 Ph.D. students for Fall 2020. The application deadline is January 15th, 2020.
The main research focus of the group is data storage and processing on emerging platforms, including data centers, cloud systems, mobile and edge systems, etc. Knowledge about data storage, flash and NVM, key-value stores, and databases, and other related areas will be helpful, but not required. Baton Rouge is a mid-sized city and has a convenient transportation, shopping, and living environment. New Orleans, the largest city of Louisiana, is one-hour drive away from Baton Rouge. Houston is about 4-hour drives away. The LSU campus is located in the south of the city center. It is famous for the southern style architecture, nationally well-known football, and over one thousand live oak trees on the campus.
