offer求建议

楼主new grad，最近拿了st**ka***t和veeva的offer，想问下大家觉得哪个公司比较好，比较有前景

base salary： s >> v
bonus: s v均无
work life balance： veeva 多
option stock：v有
做的东西：感觉差不多，application层面

问题在于，s家onsite挺高级，bar比v高，所以拒绝个bar高的有点可惜，v家可能名气比s大？

另，手里有个热带雨林的wl，还在等

个人倾向s，不知道各位有啥建议没有

我有個朋友在多倫多 veeva 工作, 她做得很開心, 所以我給 veeva 一票~ 還有 veeva 是美國上市公司, 公司成長得不錯, 很有潛力阿! (在加拿大可以領美國股票, 賣了再把美金換回加幣又多了不少, 多好 XDDD)

另一個樓主可以考慮的點是, 你希望在一個大公司工作 (v) 還是在一個小公司 (s). 因為企業文化, 工作方式和 mentorship 機會有差. 建議去 glassdoor 找 reviews, filter to show Toronto reviews only, sort by lowest ratings first, 這樣可以看到 most critical 的人覺得公司有什麼問題. 當然也可以只 filter 找 software engineer 的 review, 不過我覺得所有職位的評論都看比較好. 因為有些公司是 sales driven, 要是 sales 或 account manager 對公司非常不滿意, 那 software engineer 也不會好過. 通常小公司的面試會難一點是因為小公司活很多, 人手不夠, 通常得一人得擔很多責任, 所以要確定 hire 進來的 engineer 能力夠, 學得快, 很快就可以接下來一些 projects 不太需要 hand-holding 就處理好, 不過壞處是可能 pace 很快很累, wlb 可能很差, mentorship 不一定有 (因為大家都太忙了) -> 這個在業界裡叫做 growing pain XDDDD 可能 glassdoor review 會看到.

你也可以在 linkedin 上找兩個公司的校友, 和他們聊聊, 或是請 HR 幫你約經理電話裡談一下公司和組的情況, 好讓你做決定. 至於可以問什麼問題, 可以 google "team match questions" 或是 "teamblind team match questions". 以下給你一些可以問的問題參考:

• 公司前景: What are the biggest challenges the company is facing, and how is the company trying to tackle it? What is the roadmap and growth plan for the company?
• 組前景: Can you tell me more about your team? What are some projects your team is working on right now? 當然也可以把上面問題裡的 company replace 成 team
• 工作方式: Can you walk me through how a typical project forms, gets planned and implemented? Can you describe what a typical day is like for a software engineer on the team? Is there on-call rotation for the team, and how does that work?
• 個人成長機會: Can you tell me about the team composition (number of engineers and their experience level)? Will there be any mentorship opportunity?
• Figuring out the right expectation: What does it take to be successful here? Can you tell me about some specific projects I will be able to contribute to when I join the team?

哈哈哈哈 那你應該之後隨時想去 v 都行，讓女朋友 refer 你多賺個 referral bonus hahahaha 有點好奇，你在 s 做得開心嗎？我朋友還沒回我，所以不知道他覺得怎麼樣。不過公司那麼小，大概 shelter at home 結束後回公司上班，會有機會認識所有人的（大概也會遇到我朋友）。我幾年前跟你一樣同時有一家大公司和一家小公司 offer，後來決定去小的練功，做了快兩年，很有感觸，現在跳當時沒去的大公司 哈哈哈 所以早上看到你的帖，才趕緊留言希望你考慮清楚。我是不後悔我當時做的決定啦，因為我有學到很多東西。加油啦！
