帮一个professor发帖:Master's Positions are now available in the Department of Physics at University of Minnesota-Duluth. The studentships are fully funded for 2 years that include 9 months' teaching assistantships or research assistantships, summer research fellowships and health insurance supports.
The relevant research topics are:
1) High-Energy Particle Astrophysics
2) Computational Particle Physics
3) Physical Limnology and Oceanography
4) Theoretical Cosmology
5) Foundations of Quantum Mechanics
6) Experimental Condensed-Matter Physics
7) Atomic absorption and emission in trace elements
8) Environmental Optics

The prerequisite for admission is a four-year undergraduate degree in physics or its equivalent. Students with degrees in Mathematics, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and any other fields with significant physics and mathematics background and a keen interest in further physics training are routinely considered. In making admissions decisions, several measures are taken into account. Among these measures are undergraduate grade point average (the Graduate School prefers an undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4 point scale), undergraduate course selections, and performance on Graduate Record Exams when available. While the GRE general and subject results are not required, their submission is encouraged for students seeking financial support.

For international students, performance on the TOEFL exam is also considered. The Graduate School sets minimum TOEFL scores for admission: Internet-based iBT: 79 overall with minimum scores of 21 and 19 in the writing and reading sections respectively. To submit your application, you need to apply formally online at: http://www.grad.umn.edu/admissions/index.htmlBefore applying, you are welcome to contact:Jay AustinAssistant ProfessorLarge Lakes Observatory/ Department of PhysicsUniversity of Minnesota, DuluthDuluth, MN 55812Email:jaustin@d.umn.eduAnd Take a look at our website http://www.d.umn.edu/physics/index.html
