昨天一个美国本地朋友转发了一封邮件，并且注明想要听取我作为中国人的意见。开始看了邮件，心里并不舒服。过后想了想，到底朋友是真心询问，所以还是回复了。再次分享，也想请教地里其他伙伴是如何应对的。

The Coronavirus started in Wuhan yet there is no effect of Coronavirus in nearby Beijing or Shanghai but many deaths in Italy, Iran, European countries and USA.   How can this be???

All business areas of China are now safe.

12 strict measures China took to control the coronavirus, per Business Insider,

- Coronavirus testing was easily accessible and free.
- China built new hospitals in a rush, with workers toiling night and day to get them done.
- The country postponed non-urgent medical care, and moved many doctor's visits online.
- During the height of the outbreak, trains didn't stop at the disease's epicenter, Wuhan.
- People who thought they might have the coronavirus could go to one of the nation's many fever clinics.
- China walled off entire hospital wards to contain the virus.
- China used technology that aims to trace every single COVID-19 case.
- The country implemented large-scale contact tracing in the early 2000s.
- While staying home, it's been relatively easy for Chinese people to get extra food and supplies.
- People quickly shifted jobs in order to assist during the outbreak.
- Chinese citizens did their part to curb the disease's trajectory on an individual level, too.
- The country may punish people who don't disclose that they've been to coronavirus hotspots around the world.

America is not just blaming China without a reason.
Even today, India is locked down but all the cities of China are open.   China has also announced the opening of Wuhan from April 08.   Not a single leader in China has tested positive for the deadly Coronavirus.

Neither India, nor Italy, or the US implemented any of the interventions mentioned above.

Furthermore, below is what I have personally experienced during my stay in China (End Dec 2019 - End Feb 2020) and what I am observing based my daily communication with my family members in one city in China,

- Complete lockdown of cities: My own hometown, 1100km from Wuhan, stopped ALL bus and other public transportation services on Jan 24th, closed all businesses except supermarkets, grocery stores, pharmacies, and only allowed restaurants to provide takeout and delivery in early Feb. All delivery personnel must wear gloves and masks all the time.
- Active case surveillance: As of today, there are three cases in my hometown. One was identified in end Jan., his entire travel itinerary was shared through social media and local TV stations, so all fellow passengers could monitor their own symptoms and report to the local authority. The other two cases were identified earlier this week, so far, the municipal government is monitoring 117 people as close contacts.
- Rapid investments in increased testing capacity: As of today, all close contacts of the three cases have been tested. Every close contact is tested three times, to eliminate false negative. All tests and treatments are free.
- Isolation of cases, treatment of severe cases, quarantine of cases and high-risk groups: My father has been staying in a retirement home ever since he left the hospital on Jan 21st. The entire retirement home has been closed to outside visitors since Jan 24th. I am not able to visit my father even he was only three km away. As of today, only medications and diapers are allowed in the facility from outside. Since they identified the two cases early this week, all caretakers have to stay on site.
- Behavioral risk-reduction strategies. There have been banners, posters, and other notices posted in front of every storefront, entrance to every residential compound and village. The contents cover from hand washing methods, social distancing, to increase ventilation at home. Use of masks is COMPULSORY in the general population. Temperature check is COMPULSORY prior to entering grocery stores. While China is reopening slowly, everyone in China today is coded: Red is to stay in quarantine for 14 days; Yellow is in quarantine for 7 days, Green is safe to travel and work.

The virus has ruined many economies around the world.   Many have had to close their borders in an attempt to contain and control the spread of the Coronavirus.   Thousands have lost their lives, millions have now got this disease, countless people have been locked in their homes and many countries have placed their citizens on lock down.

Yes. And China was the first to feel the pain.
- Goldman sees China's economy shrinking 9% in the first quarter, according to Reuters.
- Many countries closed their borders to China first. I had to change my own flight three times before I could secure a seat back to the US from China.
- As of Monday, around 430,000 businesses have dissolved or suspended operations.
- Wuhan was in complete lockdown for 76 days. For most of its 11 million population, they were allowed to LEAVE HOME for the first time in more than 1o weeks.

The Coronavirus orginated from the city of Wuhan in China and has now reached every corner of the world.   But the virus did not reach Beijing or China's Economic Capital Shanghai, located in close proximity to Wuhan itself.

According to China CDC,
- Total confirmed cases in Beijing: 589
- Total confirmed cases in Shanghai: 555, including 7 suspected cases.

Zhang Wenhong, head of Shanghai's Covid-19 clinical expert team, shared the following multiple measures taken by the Shanghai government,
- The population traveling to or leaving Shanghai has significantly decreased by approximately 50%.
- All gathering activities and most of the recreational sites including restaurants, theatres and etc. were closed.
- Shanghai extended the Spring Festival holidays to 17 days from Jan 24th until Feb 9th to minimize the possible infections from patients in their incubation period.
- All citizens were encouraged to stay at home unless for necessary working, shopping, or medical treatment.
And Multiple measures in medical and health control
- Shanghai opened 110 designated fever clinics.
- ALL patients who met 1 epidemiology criteria+1 clinical relevant symptoms can go to these clinics.
- If the physicians thought the patient to meet the criteria of suspected COVID-19 infections, the patient would be admitted in to the quarantine ward and CDC staff would come for sampling and epidemiological question.
- If nucleic acid test turned our positive, all patients were enrolled into the designated hospital in Shanghai.

And to protect international mega-cities such as Beijing and Shanghai at the forefront of curbing imported cases,
- All travelers entering through them from overseas were required to be quarantined at designated sites for 14 days. International flight passengers arriving at all airports, including my hometown, are screened for fever and cough at the airport, and those who do not show symptoms are routed to a designated center away from the airport for further checks before heading to various quarantine sites. Volunteers are called in to provide translation in a number of languages.
- People who flout the border quarantine will also face serious legal consequences. People infected with quarantinable infectious diseases who refuse to receive isolated observation or fail to truthfully fill out their health declaration forms at border checkpoints could face criminal penalties. Foreigners could have their visas revoked and barred entry for up to 10 years.

Today Paris is closed.   New York is closed.   Berlin is closed.   Delhi is closed.   Mumbai is closed.   Tokyo is closed. The world's major economic and political centers are closed. However, Beijing and Shanghai are open. No Coronavirus effect is seen in either city. There are only a few cases, but the virus has had no real effect on Beijing and Shanghai.

Beijing is the city where all the leaders of China live, including their military leaders.   There is no lock down in Beijing.

Beijing was in lockdown for six weeks. Life in the Chinese capital has been ground to a halt. Life has not returned to normalcy as of today. Whoever wrote this needs to learn how to google.

Shanghai is the city that runs China's economy.   It is the economic capital of China, where all the rich people of China live and run major industries.   There is no lock down here, there is no effect of the Coronavirus there.

BTW, Beijing boasts the greatest number of wealthy individuals in 2017 in the country, so does Shenzhen.
Beijing and Shanghai are the areas adjoining Wuhan.   The virus from Wuhan reached every corner of the world, but the virus did not affect Beijing and Shanghai.

Another big thing is, that the worldwide share market has fallen by almost half.   In India also the Nifty has gone from 12 thousand to 7 thousand, but the share market of China was at 3000 and just merely dropped to 2700.

Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index has corrected itself over the past FIVE years from 4212 (Apr 2015) to 5106 (Jun 2015) to 2536 (Mar 2020) to 2796 (Apr 2020).
India SENSEX Stock Market Index shifted over the same period from 29044 (Apr 2015) to 22901 (Feb 16) to 41096 (Jan 2020) to 31159 (Apr 2020).
NIFTY 50 over the same period is 8834 (Apr 2015) to 6971 (Feb 16) to 12049 (Jan 2020) to 9112 (Apr 2020).

Two reasons to explain the difference in performances between Shanghai and SENSEX/NIFTY,
- The Chinese economy took off before India, the market corrected itself from historical high to a realistic level today as the growth of Chinese ecology slows down.
- The Chinese investors show more confidence in their government’s capacity of controlling Covid-19 than their Indian counterparts.  


This leaves one to speculate whether the Coronavirus might be a bio-chemical weapon of China.

China may now have put this virus under its control.   Perhaps they also have the antidote/ vaccine that they are not sharing with the world ,or will when it is in their best interest to do so.

I wish China had the vaccine ready. At least I wouldn’t have to worry about my family, especially my aging parents.

Hollywood stars, Australia's Home Minister, Britain's Prime Minister and Health Minister, Spain's Prime Minister's wife, Canada's Prime Minister's wife, and Britain's Prince Charles, among others, have contracted the Coronavirus.   But NOT A SINGLE POLITICAL LEADER IN CHINA, NOT A SINGLE MILITARY COMMANDER in China has tested positive for Coronavirus.

如果我觉得问的人还算理性。让他们比较 1000*1.2^15 和 10*2.2^15。假设北京有1000外地输入，但因为及时排查一人传染1.2人（当然后期肯定1人传染小于1）。 10 人去了NY,因为没有排查和重视1人传染2.2人. 15 天后的感染人数。

这个朋友是私交，我可能是他唯一有真正交往的中国朋友吧，所以不能敷衍回复，又无法一口怼回去。其实花了时间精力整理了一下，自己也感觉思路清晰了好多。
