这样的回信有戏吗

PhD想跨专业转学，开始没意识到自己在套磁，发了两封信都在说自己如何如何，悔青肠子。过了两三天竟然有一个回了，如下：

I understand you are doing Ph.D. at the University xxx. I also understand sometime people change the univeristy and study of field, but that might be challening. You can certanly apply to our graduate programs (BRS and ABE). BRS is a science based program, which fits you better. However, ABE is the engineering program, which requires engineering fundementals. For you, you need to take pre-requisete engineering courses to be acceped into ABE.

Regardless what program you apply to, I don’t make the decisions about the acceptance of new graduate students. You need to apply directly to the Department. I suggest you to look at our graduate website (http://www.xxx) for more information. Once the admission committee accepts you, they will pass your application file to me if you state my name and my research area as your interest in your statement of purpose. Then, I can only consider your application at that time.

万分激动，为了弥补一下第一封信的过失，就扯了扯从publication看来他在做的大方向。第二天早上就回信了：

Yes, BRS students can still take ABE courses if they have the sufficient background and count for their degree credits.
It is correct that our research involves lab studies as well as mathematical models and techno economical analysis. My research uses GMO strains as needed, but I don’t work on genetic or metahobolic engineering. We have aother faculty in the department who does that. Check xxx website at https://

大着胆子先递申请，申请费不打水漂的机会大吗？

我觉得没戏，除非你继续跟他套，往GMO strains 上面套，他才会对你感兴趣。 可能你之前套的时候说了你想做genetic or metahobolic engineering 但是他说别的教授做那个可能要你我觉得一点都不靠谱

老师说挺清楚的了.. move on吧~ 想申一下就走graduate commitee.
