谷歌取消了在中国和其他市场的“云计划”

谷歌放弃了在中国和其他政治敏感国家推出的一项“云服务”计划，有内部人员消息称部分原因是因为紧张的政治局势和疫情，“Isolated Region”（隔离区）云计划已经在今年5月关闭。“Isolated Region”项目原本的目标是向全球的客户和监管机构提供云服务。（云计划的目标是利用国内供应商的数据中心和服务器，在互联网上运行谷歌服务，是一种进入中国市场的方式。由于国内要求数字信息要储存在国内，但是谷歌在大陆并没有数据中心，因此需要与当地企业建立合作关系。）

Google abandoned plans to offer a major new cloud service in China and other politically sensitive countries due in part to concerns over geopolitical tensions and the pandemic, according to two employees familiar with the matter, revealing the challenges for U.S. tech giants to secure business in those markets. In May, the search giant shut down the initiative, known as “Isolated Region” and which sought to address nations’ desires to control data within their borders, the employees said.  source
