受疫情影响，“911”十九周年纪念活动仪式将缩短

纪念活动从美东时间周五上午8:30开始，受害者亲属聚集在纽约世贸中心“911”国家纪念广场和附近的一个地点。此次纪念活动以播放朗读受害者名单的录音代替传统的现场朗读。纪念馆负责人称，这是出于防疫考量。

NEW YORK (AP) — Americans commemorated 9/11 on Friday as a new national crisis — the coronavirus pandemic — reconfigured anniversary ceremonies and a presidential campaign carved a path through the observances.

In New York, victims' relatives gathered Friday morning for split-screen remembrances, one at the Sept. 11 memorial plaza at the World Trade Center and another on a nearby corner, set up by a separate organization.

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation objected to the memorial’s decision to forgo a longstanding tradition of having relatives read the names of the dead, often adding poignant tributes. Memorial leaders said they made the change as a coronavirus-safety precaution on the 19th anniversary of the deadliest terror attack on U.S. soil.  source
