请问数据挖掘和情报检索有什么区别？？

恕小弟无知，
请问数据挖掘和情报检索有什么区别？？
哪个方面在美国更好就职？
数据挖掘和情报检索，好像还有很多分支~
希望学过的师兄师姐，给我提些建议

目前我的本科毕业设计是动画的检索

Data Mining is about identifying trends and patterns in large data sets. The classic example is 7/11 in the 80s and 90s used data mining to determine what products people buy together and at what times and adjusted store layout to suit (and in Japan they shifted layout three times a day to match buying patterns in the morning, at lunch, and in the evening).

Information Retrieval is about finding information in a collection. Question Answering, Searching, and Filtering are the primary tasks. IR as it is typically taught focuses on text IR and historical techniques of data coding, storage, and processing.
