One opening of a PhD student is available at School of Systems and Enterprises at Stevens Institute of Technology, working with Dr. Feng Liu. PhD student will be supported with very competitive scholarship. The research directions are focused on data science, machine learning and brain imaging and medical imaging, your research preference is also strongly respected.  We have very good computational resources and have very interesting on-going projects collaborating with very top universities in USA.

Desirable PhD applicants may have a background in Automatic Control, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related fields. A Master degree in related fields is preferred; Due to COVID, GRE and TOEFL are not required.  Students who are currently in the US and available at Spring 2021 is strongly preferred.

About Dr. Liu:

Dr. Feng Liu is currently an assistant professor at Stevens Institute of Technology as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2020. He received his PhD degree in the Industrial and Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2018. He joined Harvard University (Medical School) as a PostDoctoral research fellow from 2018 to 2020. He also holds a research affiliate appointment at Picower Institute for Learning and Memory at MIT. He is a guest editor for Brain Informatics, and his research won best paper awards at the International Conference of Brain Informatics and INFORMS Data Mining Society.

Stevens Institute of Technology: located in Hoboken, NJ, about 10 minutes distance to Manhattan, New York. School of Systems and Enterprises is one of the four academic schools of Stevens. The ranking of Stevens is #74. For Industrial Engineering/System Engineering the ranking is #33.

哦，我是想申请CS的PhD。这个phd的方向好像不是CS？有什么区别啊，不知道是不是仍然符合我的期待。
