survival analysis这个方向怎么样？

censored data - u need to see if missingness is related to anything....

but in IT big data, this is just not happening a lot
here, we do have some cases where data is just capped at some value for simplicity, i actually proposed using survival but ppl are not intereted - marginal gain, or unclear gain, for a lot of added complexity. when u have huge data and tons of info to process, u cant afford to add complexity this way.
not sure about other industry though - i can imagine in insurance, this will be needed, but not sure

also not all data analysts work with big data

研究不是致死率，主要是关注存活的实际时间 死的的多也无所谓吧。。。
但如果你的意思是hazard很大 一下全死光了 我也不知道怎么办。。。

high dim 跟大数据区别，上文已经讲了，工具可能会有类似，比如classification什么的，high dim and big data 里都一样能用

哦，对了nonparametric 估计是用不到的方向---实在不缺数据啊。。。。

好像survival是离的比较远的一个方向了，可以自己读读job description
如果我没记错google quantitative analyst 是要bayesian and time series and DOE
logistic reg 当然不是一个方向，不过job desc里面出现也很多

如果你想去g, f, l, d, a, a, m 这种地方当data scientist 请务必学好编程。并且还是课业外的编程。

不过楼主还是可以追问下教授，学这个方向做big data analyst可以一般去什么样的行业工作。

对，想起来了，insurance等行业研究attrition会用这个
算不算大数据不好说，有的说算。

恩 精算这些会用的比较多
但感觉确实不是主流的领域啊 做的人不多
