1) Research Area of Interest and Major: (please explain what your major is and what you plan to study)
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Introduction to the major: ME is about how to design and control machines. To be specific, it encompasses mechanics/dynamics theory, kinematics theory, control theory and advanced design methods like CAD and FEA.
Personal study plan: I prefer to focus on dynamics and control theory.

3) Is your program coursework only?
This XXX program is a course-based program which requires at least 10 graduate-level courses.       
4) Specify the courses and concentrations you are interested in.
Concentrations: I would like to focus on the concentration named Systems Modeling, Dynamics, and Control.
Courses: Courses related to locomotion system and its control principles attract me most. In the curriculum, I am interested in Introduction to Linear Systems Theory, Computational Solid Dynamics, Locomotion Dynamics and Control, and Applied Optimal Control.
5) Advisor or Potential Advisor: (this means your research advisor not academic advisor)
This XXX program is an all-course program. There is no specified research advisor for this program. If needed, my appointed academic advisor is XXX.
6) Plan after graduation:       
I plan to complete my degree and come back to China to work as an engineer. Nowadays, China owns a huge market and people can get decent jobs if they have good education background.
The mechanical industry in China has been developing rapidly. Many international corporations choose to set up factories and their Asian branches in China, which furtherly provides more job opportunities. My graduate study on dynamics and control theory and the master’s degree from XXX will make me well-qualified for getting a decent job.
In addition, my parents live in China and almost all my friends are studying or working in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. I will not feel lonely if I have my friends and family living around me. I am the only child in my family so after graduating I will come back to stay with them.
Accordingly, I plan to pursue my master’s degree at XXX University and then come back to China to build my career in industrial or manufacturing companies.
7) Why do I choose USA:
Undoubtedly, USA and Germany are the two countries with the most comprehensive strength in the field of mechanical engineering. Thus, with the strongest educational resources worldwide, such as prestigious professors and their advanced insights, USA became a proper destination for me to pursue my master’s degree in mechanical engineering. Besides, it will not take me extra time to learn German if I could study in America.

Mechanical Engineering was one of the three engineering concentrations first offered at XXX in the beginning. Its academic accumulation and teaching achievements are unparalleled.
