[Steps of Networking]: 献给找工作 or 初入职场的你

国内的教育没有教过我们如何在职场中做好人际交往，而networking又是美国职场发展或应聘非常看重的一部分。楼主本人性格偏内向，英文也不是很溜，通过一些workshop, 给大家总结分享下networking 的tips.
这些内容比较适合初入美国职场或者正在美国读书求职的同学。 希望对大家能有所帮助！ 也希望并感谢大家多多给我加米！鞠躬！

****** Steps of Conversational Networking ******

Step 1: Elevator Pitch (a short summary)  (这个大家可以在network前，在家里准备几个版本 ）

• Your name
• Brief summary of your exp
• Why you're here
• Open-ended questions
  

• Example: "Hi, my name is _____. I am ______. I'm here because _______. Open-ended questions (e.g. What inspired you to come to this event?)"
  

Step 2: Initiate a Conversation (和Step 1可以互换，或一起使用）

• Example: "Hi, my name is _____. I am ______. This is the first time I have been to ABC event. Have you attended before?"
• or "Hi, I'm ___, and I'd like to introduce myself."
  

Step 3: Active Listening (增强互动和建立相互理解）

• Ways of feeding back what you hear to the listen include:
  

       -- Paraphrasing
       -- Expressing Empathy

• Example： ”So you're evaluating different options" (paraphrasing); "You sound frustrated" (empathy)
  

Step 4: Ask Meaningful Questions

• Example:
• "Can you please tell me more about your company or your team?"
• "How did you transition from being an engineer to a team manager?"
  

Step 5: Offer Something

• What you can offer include:
  

       -- Resources
       -- Connections
       -- Advice, etc


Step 6: Close the Interaction Gracefully

• Example:
• "I'm going to attend another meeting. It's been great meeting you, and I hope you enjoy the event./ I wish you success with your project."
• "I've enjoyed chatting with you. It seems like we have a lot in common. Would you like to talk more sometime?"
