国内的教育没有教过我们如何在职场中做好人际交往,而networking又是美国职场发展或应聘非常看重的一部分。楼主本人性格偏内向,英文也不是很溜,通过一些workshop, 给大家总结分享下networking 的tips.

****** Steps of Conversational Networking ******
Step 1: Elevator Pitch (a short summary) (这个大家可以在network前,在家里准备几个版本 )
- Your name
- Brief summary of your exp
- Why you're here
- Open-ended questions
- Example: "Hi, my name is _____. I am ______. I'm here because _______. Open-ended questions (e.g. What inspired you to come to this event?)"

Step 2: Initiate a Conversation (和Step 1可以互换,或一起使用)
- Example: "Hi, my name is _____. I am ______. This is the first time I have been to ABC event. Have you attended before?"
- or "Hi, I'm ___, and I'd like to introduce myself."
Step 3: Active Listening (增强互动和建立相互理解). 1point3acres
- Ways of feeding back what you hear to the listen include:
-- Paraphrasing

- Example: ”So you're evaluating different options" (paraphrasing); "You sound frustrated" (empathy)
