Shuai Group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The George Washington University is looking for 2-3 Ph.D. students and/or 1 postdoc researcher who are interested in the following research topics:
(i) Environmental virology, by understanding how to control the transmission of waterborne rotaviruses and noroviruses;
(ii) Catalysis, by developing and implementing single-atom catalysts for water purification;
(iii) Environmental nanotechnology, by advancing electrospinning for environmental remediation.
The positions are available as soon as Jan 2022. Our group has extensive experiences in catalysis, nanotechnology, and microbiology, and we are working on multidisciplinary projects at water-energy-health nexus. We are looking for candidates who have a strong background in virology/microbiology, catalysis, nanotechnology, environmental chemistry, and water quality engineering. Candidates with past degrees and research experiences in biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, material sciences and engineering, and environmental engineering are welcome.
