2020 Fall远程入学，2021 Fall 来美，现在能申请CPT嘛？

2020年秋季远程入学的master 项目，因为疫情直到今年Fall学期才肉身来到美国， 现在想要申请春季的一个实习，不知道是否eligible for CPT? 项目负责人邮件的意思似乎是不可以：

> To be eligible for CPT, students must have completed two full-time semesters within the last academic year while having active SEVIS status. (Generally, this means that international students who began this Summer or Fall, and international students who began their program in 2020 but studied remotely from outside the U.S. in AY20-21 are not eligible for CPT.)

但是在ICE的官方FAQ文件里 https://www.ice.gov/doclib/coronavirus/covid19faq.pdf 我找到了这一条

> 4. Does time spent studying outside of the United States during the COVID-19
emergency count toward the one-year requirement for CPT and OPT?

> An F student accrues eligibility for practical training whether they are inside or
outside of the United States during the COVID-19 emergency if the student is in
Active status in SEVIS and meets the requirements of their school’s procedural
change plans submitted to SEVP.

所以关键点似乎是SEVIS Active Status。那么远程入学没有申请签证的时候不算激活SEVIS？

你第一次以该I20入境 才会激活。CP T实地满一年才批是统一规定。只有很特殊的项目才会允许提前CPT 很显然你的项目并不是 所以得等到夏天…

感谢！好奇是不是ICE的硬性规定，如果发邮件跟学校求情会不会有用😂

一般来说是需要在美国境内一年才可以申请cpt，但是有些项目如果有做实习要求就可以直接申请
