I20到期60天后才收到conditional offer

加急求救！！！今年五月东北大学master毕业，申了本校的phd教授说给我conditional offer。我的I20在5.8过期，Grace period在7.7结束，7.9拿到了conditional offer...现在学校说我out of statue了不能transfer-in，只能申请initial I20然后回国重新签证。可是专业会被check我肯定赶不上开学回美国... 请问各位友友有何经验或建议～

学校的回复：Thank you for taking the time to meet with me last week regarding your upcoming PhD program. I have reviewed your situation with my supervisor, and have confirmed that because you are not currently maintaining F1 status, you are not eligible to receive funding for your PhD program through an SGA. In order to pursue this program with the SGA funding, you will need to exit and re-enter the U.S. to regain F1 status. Please review the information regarding readmission included in this handout.

While our office cannot specifically advise you on what other countries may be able to issue an F1 visa for non-citizens, we have had 1 student in the past who was able to obtain a visa in Singapore. We would recommend doing independent research and reaching out to U.S. consulates and embassies regarding potentially obtaining a visa appointment. Please note that because you are not currently maintaining F1 status, you should plan to exit the U.S. as soon as possible. If you are unable to travel to a 3rd country to obtain a visa, you may have to return to your home country and talk to admissions and your academic department about delaying your start date for the program, or starting your program online.

I have reviewed the readmission hand out, and most of the information included there is relevant only for students who are in the middle of a program, not planning to start a new program. In your situation you would simply need to submit a request for a new initial I-20, and use that new I-20 to apply for a new F1 visa.

建议赶紧做plan b准备第三国签证。学校掌管所有这一系列留学生的操作，今天DSO给什么结论就是什么结论，你自己再怎么读条款求意见其实基本都是没有用的，他们觉得要怎么操作就只能是按照他们的走(不得不承认，不同学校的DSO对于留学生相关的条款条例了解，和理解是不一样的，然而这是没有办法的事情)。个人建议可以继续写邮件尝试，但是必须马上开始了解准备第三国面签，不排除这很有可能是唯一出路。同时，你应该要去了解defer的事情了，不打无准备之仗。如果真的是要延期入学，PI也要keep in loop，不然给对方也整的有点尴尬。祝好！

谢谢友友！已经写邮件联系了导师和学院秘书，不能通融的话就讨论远程学习的事情。学校的意思是我的i20在结束60天之后什么活动都没有，sevis就被终止了，f1也跟着一起失效了。现在想确认一下f1是否还有效，否则只能回国面签。另外如果能争取到reinstatement，或许直接省去所有麻烦原地等入学。

楼主现在怎样啦，我也是这种情况，能一起交流一下吗，我们打算去墨西哥签证
