我也发了邮件，很快就回复我了，贴出来供大家参考：

1. How many students will be enrolled in this program, and how is the diversity of the student body?
This is the inaugural offering of this program, and we hope to have a few dozen students studying with us in Shanghai in Fall 2014.

2. Schedule: I notice that to obtain a certificate in Financial Engineering, I need to complete 15 credits which I assume I have to take the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters to complete. So if I have a GPA of at least 3.5 and I want to continue to finish the master degree, does it mean that I will complete the remain credits with the Fall 2015 MS Financial Engineering students? And does it mean that it will take me at least 2.5 years to get a master degree?

The students will take 9 credits in Shanghai in Fall 2014 and 9 in Brooklyn in Spring 2015. Those who have a GPA of at least 3.5 will be allowed to continue past the GCFE and complete the MS Financial Engineering degree. All credits taken in the first two semesters will count for both the certificate and the Master’s degree and the MS degree will take 2.0 years in total to complete (including time in Shanghai)

3. Courses: The letter told me that courses at NYU-Shanghai and their professors will be identical to the courses delivered in New York. I am curious as to how that is achieved. Will the professors come to Shanghai to teach us?

We will either send our teachers to Shanghai or hire professors from around the world that we have worked with to go to Shanghai to deliver the same course material in Shanghai as in NYC.

4. Tuition: Is the tuition the same as graduate tuition as $1,363 per credit? Can you tell me more about the non-credit courses fees?

For tuition, fees, and all financial matters I refer you to our Graduate Center – they are expert in these issues. I have copied Mr. Lutzky of that office on this reply.

贴出最终回复吧：Yes, I am sad to say that this offer of GCFE is your alternate path (if you should want to pursue it) to MS Financial Engineering at NYU as we will not be accepting you into this program in New York for Fall 2014.

我对第二条有点疑问，3.5的要求不是只针对上海这一个学期吗，怎么变成两个学期了？而且他写的第一学期到3.5不是就给GCFE吗，怎么现在GCFE也要两个学期了？

提的问题：
1. What's the detailed curriculum of the GCFE program? I notice that to obtain a certificate in Financial Engineering, I need to complete 15 credits (6 required courses, 1 lab course and 1 elective course list below). Does the GCFE program share the same curriculum?

2. As what indicted in the letter , I know that if I successfully complete the GCFE program with a GPA of at least 3.5, I can have the privilege of taking the study of the Master of Science in Financial Engineering (MSFE). Then need I apply for MSFE again at that time? Or can I obtain the master degree by continuing my study there and selecting courses related to MSFE.  What's more, for greatly interested in the technology, I'd like to apply for the Technology & Algorithmic Finance Track of MSFE program after finishing GCFE. How will the GCFE program contribute to my future choice? If there is little advantage of studying GCFE, can you recommend other graduate certificate program to me, which can be better for my future application for master degree with a track in technology?

3. Are all professors at NYU-Shanghai from NYU or NYU-POLY?

4. What is the total tuition including the non-credit courses fee of GCFE program? Does your school provide GCFE students with accommodation in both Shanghai and New York?

回信：
1. The GCFE is very close to what you have copied from the web. The web posting is a bit old — revisions have been made. But this is the correct idea. We will ask GCFE students to take 18 not 15 credits because one must take 9 credits per semester to have a visa to study in the USA.
2. You are conditionally admitted to MSFE — if you earn a 3.5 or higher you will automatically transition to MSFE status unless you want to stop your studies at that time. No new application process will need to happen. You will be able to study Technology & Algo Finance track courses in NY in the 2nd semester — we can permit some substitution in the GCFE list if the student has specific career goals.
3. We are sending MS FE professors to Shanghai. More details on this will come very soon. By the way — there is no “NYU-Poly” — we are the Polytechnic School of Engineering of NYU in the same way that the business school is the Stern School of Business of NYU.
4. For all financial questions I will defer to our Graduate Center — they are better equipped to answer these. I have copied the Director of that office, Mr. Lutzky, on this reply.

我的本科是会计专业，不知道是不是这个项目有很多同学都是因为转专业而被放到这里的。
还有收到gcfe的同学能报一下背景吗?

我收到的邮件上写了fall shanghai 9 , spring NY 9, 两个都要满足3.5以上.
