Summary of job duties:
the department of plant science at North Dakota state university is seeking a highly motivated and outstanding postdoctoral researcher to work in the food processing program of Dr. minwei xu. the successful candidate will work on the application of machine learning to food processing.
Qualifications:
the candidate should have
(i) a PhD degree in food science, food processing, food engineering, or a related field, have basic knowledge of coding, have a strong interest to learn machine learning;
(ii) alternatively, a PhD degree in deep learning or a related field, have basic knowledge of chemistry and biology, have a strong interest to learn food science;
(iii) a consistent record of publications in high-quality journals;
(iv) good communication skills both in English writing and speaking. the selected candidate must be able to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
candidates with experience in food processing, machine learning, and image processing are desired.
