最近实验室里，全都讨论它算不算AI的新突破

贴一些讨论：

“ AI is magic. If you understand it, then it isn't magic. Hence, not AI. ”

” As soon as a technology "works" - which means it's understood *how* it works, people (including researchers!) start saying that there's nothing "intelligent" about it, i.e. that it's not AI.“

“A no-win situation for us ... unless we start producing black boxes :)”

“Because "artificial" means not true (artificial flowers, artificial sweetener). So when a machine has true intelligence, it certainly is not "AI". For comparison, a human does not has any "artificial intelligence" :)”

看了第一集，我里面问题基本不会。。就会个哈利波特的。。
watson 抢答速度快。。不过有段时间抽了。。弄错很多。。

As you may have heard, the first-ever human vs. machine Jeopardy competition will take place February 14, 15 and 16, when two of Jeopardy’s greatest champions square off against IBM supercomputer, Watson.   
Named after IBM founder Thomas J. Watson, the supercomputer is one of the most advanced systems on Earth and was programmed by 25 IBM scientists over the last four years.
What you may not have heard is that Watson’s project team is led by Principal Investigator, David Ferrucci, who earned his Ph.D. at Rensselaer.  Dr. Ferrucci is joined by two other Rensselaer alumni, Adam Lally and Chris Welty, who are members of the Watson Algorithms Team. Dr. Welty earned all three of his degrees at Rensselaer, and is a former director of Rensselaer’s computer science laboratory.
The Jeopardy-IBM Challenge poses a specific question with very real business implications: “Can a system be designed that applies advanced data management and analytics to natural language in order to uncover a single, reliable insight—in a fraction of a second?”
