A fully funded PhD position is available in Sept 2023 or Jan 2024 at the University of Alberta in Canada. The PhD is expected to work with Dr. Yuxiang Chen and Dr. Qipei (Gavin) Mei and to develop computer vision solutions for building envelope inspection.
Qualifications of the Applicants:
• Must hold or are expected to obtain an Bachelor’s degree (for MSc applicants) and Master’s degree (for PhD applicants) in a relevant discipline (e.g., civil engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, applied math, etc.).
• Meet the minimum requirements set by the University of Alberta
• Fascinated by problem-solving, exploring and creating new knowledge.
• Should be highly motivated, well organized and passionate about research, with good communication skills in English.
• The applicant should have a strong desire to conduct transformational research in close collaboration with the industry.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research independently or in a team.
• Excellent skills in programming are required.
• Experience in paper writing and publishing is an asset.
• Experience in machine/deep learning algorithms is an asset.
• Experience in energy efficiency is an asset.
