Perhaps different people have different opinions regarding this topic? Actually two years ago when one of my seniors asked a very renowned professor of GA Tech ISyE for advice on OR PhD program list, she was told MIT and Northwestern were better than GA Tech, without mentioning Cornell, Columbia, Berkeley, etc. Two things surprised both my senior and me are that the professor seems not to like Columbia, and that he even suggested her not to apply for Berkeley IEOR... But at least we can say GA Tech is quite respected in the area of OR. Another school recommended was Waterloo, where the newly elected NAE member Bill Cook, now at GA Tech, graduated.

In the term of faculty's quality, my adviser thinks the Ph.D program in OR at GaTech is the best. surprisingly, he said that the ORC at MIT is not so impressive right now.
Therefore, I would say the Master program in OR at GaTech is pretty decent as well.  I couldn't be more happier to see another talented young scholar to be a OR person.

看你之前的帖子，似乎是倾向于MS后工作的？我相信GT的research水平是很好的，只是对于工作，个人觉得可能谨慎的好。。。我不知道OR情况如何，不过我有同学从GT MSIE毕业后被迫回国的。而国内目前这两块都不是很乐观，或者说发展不太成熟导致机会不多吧。我大概只能建议你去找GT的中国学生问问，他们的名单在这里：http://www.isye.gatech.edu/academics/graduate/listing/index.php

我同学是去年毕业的，如果需要，也可以考虑联系一下问问情况。

另外，几天不仔细上来看看，没想到ieor的结果已经出来这么多了，恭喜！

感觉GaTech的OR方向非常地全，学术牛人也好多。如果继续读Phd的话，应该是个不错的选择~

我现在纠结的很~~不知道该怎么取舍。。gatech可以说是我现在收到的最好的AD了
