I think the OPT Extension proposal is a great rule. More opportunities should be provided to STEM students. Some critics may argue that this rule will increase the unemployment rate and they believe by offering less opportunities to foreigners, the unemployment rate will be significantly lower. However. I believe this argument is not going to become.
First, STEM majors are those most domestic students are not willing to learn. Let’s say computer science. In the graduate program of my university, more than 80% of students are foreigners and only 20% are locals, including green cards. Notice that my university admits more foreigners are not because there are more smart people outside the country than domestic. In fact, my university put a more strict constraint when admit foreigners, GPA has to be higher than 3.5 and TOEFL scores more than 100. But, there are still more foreigner in the program than domestic, it is because less domestic students select this as their majors. And this is actually happened to most universities in US. So, foreigners only fill in those spots that domestics are not willing to take.
Second, because of the first point, foreigners are not big competitors of domestic students. In my university computer science department, domestic students are all already find good jobs and it is very common that they have several offers from big techs. Therefore, even though foreigners are not allowed to work in US, how can our domestic students benefit from that, more offers? This is actually true for many universities in US, therefore, even if US is not allowed foreigners to work here, the unemployment rate for CS students won’t drop a lot.
Third, if extension rule cannot pass, I am 100% sure that there will be a huge drop in the application to US universities in the next few years. By observing the large proportion of foreign students in each university, I am wondering how much revenue the universities are going to drop. Subsequently, how many people work in these universities may lose their jobs because of it. The overall unemployment rate may probably go down. Moreover, foreign students are powerful consumers. They need to rent apartments, purchase furniture, and so on. The big drop in application to universities will probably make those businesses, which largely depend on students go less profitable and even break up.
Forth, foreign students who are willing to take a lot to effort to come here are be able to find a job here are usually those who are talent and competitive people in their own countries. The recruiters here are smart and rational, they are not going to recruit foreigners who are not talent and good at their majors. In addition, they have to take into account the cost for sponsorship of working VISA. Therefore,  if two candidates with relative same strength in their professional skills, but one is foreigner and the other one is  local. Of course, this recruiter is going to recruit the local! Only very talent foreigners will get jobs in US. Every single country in this world is thinking how to attract talent people to their place and make contributions there. Are we going to close this door for foreigners?

我发现我室友和周围的同事都没有提交评论，我干脆以他们的名义再多发几篇评论，中心思想如下：
1。作为一个汽车零件供应商公司的雇员，我们公司最近几年越来越面临着找不到合格的新工程师的难题，主要是由于薪酬的原因，越来越多的美国大学生选择IT专业，且大量的机械工程专业学生也去整车厂工作。最近几年公司一直招不到年轻的工程师，知道今年招到好几个国际学生才解决公司长期人手不够的问题。因此国际学生可以帮助大量的传统美国产业复兴，提供必要的支持和帮助。
2。国际学生在美国的消费又大大地刺激了美国消费市场的增长。作为年轻人，平均一个国际学生每年的消费额在xx美元（瞎编）左右，而OPT的延长绝对能增加这种消费的持续时间。新的opt规则在未来将吸引越来越多的国际学生来美国学习，他们在美国就读期间将在美国大量消费，旅游，且提供美国院校大量的科研资金。
3。我周围有些同学利用opt的机会来创业，涉及食品，机械，信息等产业。尤其是食品产业，他们为美国带来了从未有过的新食品，而且也正在创造大量新的工作机会。
我认为可以把每一点拆分出来算一篇

我有问题，那审核标准是什么。为什么有些明显是喷子式的文章能发出来。我们写得有理有据确显示不出？还有，你有没有看过你自己写过的。

其实我觉得吧。。。这个让各大IT公司的HR去评论最合适了。。。要是他们想到以后每年的招人指标完成不了了

官方的说法是他们审核不适当的语言（侮辱，歧视）还有就是重复内容。据我观察，昨天 显示评论／总共评论 ＝ 5700/9700 今天变成了 7400/1200，最近大家写的应该过两天就能出来了

This is a great proposal. There are so many international talents working for tech companies in US nowadays. Depends on both American and international workers' efforts, US has the greatest tech companies in the world now and in the future. During the OPT period, international students can gain most valuable experience from industry which gives them a huge benefit when they go back to their countries to continue their careers. Also OPT policy makes it possible for tech companies to hire enough excellent employees. It's a win-win game for United States and international students. Most projects on tech companies take more than one year. Without the OPT extension, international employees most likely can not even accomplish a complete project for their companies before they leave. That will be a big loss and trouble for those companies. There's no hurt, but so many benefits for US to provide the OPT extension.
